Transferring a suspended cpanel account can result in the following warning

Transferring a suspended cpanel account can result in the following warning: A non-fatal error occurred during rsync streaming: Partial transfer due to error

Question

When transferring a suspended account from one WHM server to another, you may receive the following message in either the Transfer Tool (upon Restore) or the Review Transfers and Restores (Review link) page.

(XID hgaom4) A non-fatal error occurred during rsync streaming: Partial transfer due to error

The account will successfully Transfer, but a warning will appear. Below is an example of the permission set.

root@server [~] # find /home/cptest-account/ -perm 000
./public_ftp

Answer

The warning happens because of the ‘suspended’ status of the account.

Account Suspension includes modifying the permissions of the ‘public_ftp’ directory to 0000. This prevents rsync from interacting with it and skips it. This is expected from a suspended account.

The message can be safely ignored.
