Migrating from CentOS 8 to AlmaLinux 8<\/h1>\n

Since January 2022, support for CentOS 8 has ended. Installation and operation of the control panel on a server with CentOS 8 is not supported.<\/p>\n

To continue working with the control panel, you can migrate to AlmaLinux OS using the\u00a0almalinux-deploy<\/a>\u00a0script:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Connect to the server with the conrol panel via SSH.<\/li>\n
  2. Check the OS version:\n
    cat<\/span> \/etc\/redhat-release<\/code><\/pre>\n<\/li>\n
  3. If the OS version is lower than 8.5, change the paths to the repositories:\n
    sed -i -r 's|^(mirrorlist.+)$|#\\1|g; s|^#baseurl=http:\/\/mirror.centos.org\/\\$contentdir\/\\$releasever\/|baseurl=https:\/\/vault.centos.org\/8.5.2111\/|g' \/etc\/yum.repos.d\/CentOS-*.repo<\/pre>\n<\/li>\n
  4. Update software:\n
    sudo yum update<\/span> -<\/span>y<\/code><\/pre>\n<\/li>\n
  5. Download the migration script:\n
    curl -O https:\/\/raw.githubusercontent.com\/AlmaLinux\/almalinux-deploy\/master\/almalinux-deploy.sh<\/code><\/pre>\n<\/li>\n
  6. Run the script:\n
    sudo bash almalinux-deploy.sh<\/code><\/pre>\n
    Message on successful script execution<\/b><\/p>\n
    Migration to<\/span> AlmaLinux is completed<\/code><\/pre>\n<\/li>\n
  7. If the script run fails with an error likeExample of error<\/b>\n
    <\/pre>\n
    import the GPG key of the AlmaLinux repository manually and restart the script:<\/p>\n
    sudo rpm --import https:\/\/repo.almalinux.org\/almalinux\/RPM-GPG-KEY-AlmaLinux && sudo bash almalinux-deploy.sh<\/code><\/pre>\n<\/li>\n
  8. Check that AlmaLinux has been installed:\n
    <\/pre>\n

    AlmaLinux release 8.5 (Arctic Sphynx)<\/pre>\n<\/li>\n
  9. Check that the AlmaLinux kernel is loaded by default:\n
    sudo grubby --info DEFAULT | grep AlmaLinux<\/code><\/pre>\n
