cPanel provides a tool that you can use to\u00a0transfer from cPanel to cPanel<\/strong>, from one server to another. This is a very powerful tool in that it makes moving from one cPanel server to another into a very simple process. Keep in mind that any configuration files that are affected by the change will still need to be changed. This tutorial walks you through the steps for the transfer process.<\/p>\n

How to Transfer from cPanel to cPanel using the Transfer Tool<\/h2>\n

A\u00a0VPS\u00a0<\/strong>or\u00a0Dedicated Server<\/strong>\u00a0with\u00a0root access\u00a0is required to follow the steps in this guide.<\/p>\n

    1. Login to the WHM\u00a0as root.<\/li>\n
    2. In the menu at the left, search for and then click on\u00a0Transfer Tool<\/b>. You will see several options that you will need to select or fill in. They include:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
      <\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\n
      Remote Server address<\/th>\nProvide the URL of the account you are transferring from.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
      Remote SSH port<\/th>\nBy default this is set to 22. Change it only if necessary.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
      Select the user type for Login<\/th>\nThis can be either the root user or an account user. You will need the root user if you\u2019re moving multiple accounts<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

      \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 3. Root Password<\/b>\u2013 Add the root password so that the root user can be used for authentication. If you\u2019re using the root user leave Restricted Restore<\/b>\u00a0unchecked.<\/p>\n

      4.\u00a0 Once all of the information has been selected and added for the Remote Server Information and Authentication<\/b>, click\u00a0Fetch Account List<\/b>.<\/p>\n

      5. The Transfer Tool<\/em>\u00a0will compare the versions of cPanel and display them for you. You will not need to select anything for the versions.<\/p>\n

      6. You will also see a screen listing the available packages. You do not need to select anything on this screen.<\/p>\n

      \"\"<\/p>\n

      7.\u00a0 You will then get the ability to search for the account you want to transfer. Uncheck only<\/em>\u00a0Express Transfer<\/b>.<\/p>\n

      8. After you have finished selecting the accounts you want to transfer, click Copy<\/b>.<\/p>\n

      9. At this point the Transfer Tool<\/em>\u00a0will begin the transfer for you. The initial transfer process should happen quickly, however the processing period depends on the size of your account.<\/p>\n

      10. Then the processing is complete, you will see Additional Options<\/b>. The\u00a0Keep DNS Zone<\/b>\u00a0would need to be unchecked\u00a0UNLESS<\/em>\u00a0your servers are in the same DNS cluster. If you have any doubts, please contact our\u00a0live technical support team<\/p>\n

      After the Transfer is Completed<\/h2>\n
      \n

      NOTE:\u00a0<\/b>If you transferred a cPanel account that already existed on the destination server, the password for that user will be restored\/overwritten from the originating server. Use the cPanel user\u2019s password (as it is set on the previous server) or\u00a0reset it.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

      At this point, the accounts should all be transferred over to you. You may still need to re-configure configuration files, clear cache, reset permalinks, set DNS settings, re-point name servers, etc. but the selected accounts should have transferred. Once you have completed your re-configuration and your testing of the moved accounts, you can close down your old server accounts.
